Exhilarating Performance

Inside every Z06 is an LS7 aluminum–block V8. It puts out a SAE-certified (Society of Automotive Engineers) 505 hp and 470 lb.–ft. of torque. Hand–built by the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Mich., the LS7 engine contains a litany of racing–derived components, such as an eight–quart dry–sump lubrication system, titanium valves and connecting rods, forged–steel crankshaft with six–bolt main bearings, high–profile cam, and Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machined heads for better air/fuel flow. Even with its performance, the engine does not incur a federal government gas–guzzler penalty.

Active Handling

Active Handling

Active Handling is an electronic symphony of Traction Control and antilock brakes working through a network of microcomputers, aircraft–style accelerometers, and sensors to provide an electronic safety net. Although no system, no matter how sophisticated, can overcome the laws of physics, this system compares driver steering input with actual vehicle response and, when necessary, uses individual wheel brake application, as well as the Traction Control system, and available Magnetic Selective Ride Control system to maximize the driver’s ability to maintain stability and stay on track.

Paddle Shifter

Paddle Shifter

Get engaged, thanks to available Six–Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes. Identical paddles are positioned on each side of the steering wheel. Push the “plus” button with your thumb to upshift early, or hold out until redline for maximum performance. Downshift on command by lightly squeezing the paddle behind the wheel back toward you. You’ll accomplish fast downshifts from sixth gear all the way to first.

Timeless Design
•  Sleek and dimensionally leaner exterior than the previous generation Corvette with reduced overall length.
•  Torsional bending frequency exceeds 20hz, providing an extremely rigid platform.
•  A drag coefficient of less than 0.29 — as well as indexing door glass for improved seals — contributes to great overall aerodynamic efficiency.
•  Exposed headlamps provide better aerodynamics in addition to reducing mass and improving reliability.
•  Astonishing lighting performance, thanks to xenon high-intensity discharge low beams and tungsten halogen high beams.
•  Refined interior and leather seating surfaces.
•  Available heated seats provide new levels of comfort for cold-weather driving.
•  Sound system choices include an available seven-speaker Bose system and available six-disc CD changer.
•  More than 22.0 cu. ft. of cargo space. Even the Corvette convertible’s trunk accommodates two large golf bags. (Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution.)

High-Technology Features
•  Keyless Entry with Push-Button Start eliminates the need for a key.
•  An available GPS voice-activated navigation system guides drivers to their destinations in the 48 contiguous United States and most of Canada, while referencing roadside information such as gas stations and restaurants.
•  Available OnStar(4) provides features like Automatic Notification of Airbag Deployment and Stolen-Vehicle Tracking.
•  Available XM Satellite Radio(5) offers subscribers digital-quality music, news and entertainment from over 120 stations in the 48 contiguous United States.
•  A personalized Driver Information Center provides operating temperatures, tire pressure and more.
•

Available Head-Up Display provides information such as speed, engine rpm, fuel and lateral g-forces.

Power Convertible Top

Power Convertible Top

The top and tonneau cover cycle up or down in 18 seconds without the driver ever having to leave the cockpit. A bulkhead helps block road noise as well. The bulkhead creates a fully enclosed trunk that accommodates two golf bags. The convertible rear window has a built–in heating element for excellent visibility. Furthermore, the top features an easy–to–use single–latch release.
